\nThe T&M camera system comprises:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • 8ch Recording unit (DVR) with 1TB SSD Storage (with support for up to 4TB)<\/li>\n
  • 5 x cameras including 1x driver facing<\/li>\n
  • 7-inch LCD monitor<\/li>\n
  • CitySafe left turn alarm<\/li>\n
  • StepProtect proximity sensor system<\/li>\n
  • 3 x AI cameras – Progressive Safe System<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Let\u2019s discuss each system in a logical order.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

    Recording System<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Starting with the recording system, the lads in the T&M workshop have created a special tamperproof DVR cover (right) preventing fiddling fingers! Data is stored to a 1TB SSD giving plenty of storage space. A key aspect of the TrafficAngel DVR is its suspension-protected drive. Prior to this feature, all DVRs ran the risk of freezing or losing data if the vehicle encountered potholes or jarring road surfaces. Solid state drives (SSD) combined with suspension means T&M\u2019s data is safe no matter the road shock!<\/p>\n\n\n

    Reversing Camera<\/h2>\n

    The reversing camera is double-sealed and IP69K-rated (the top rating available short of explosion-proof!) The screws are stainless steel, NOT aluminium which tends to corrode turning to powder in the threads, making ongoing servicing and\/or replacement an avoidably annoying chore.<\/p>\n

    The camera has excellent night-time\/pitch dark vision and the refresh rate means it also records well to the DVR at dawn and dusk, a weak spot in many other camera systems out there.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

    Front Camera<\/h2>\n

    The front camera is our torpedo camera which gives suitable coverage across the front with the necessary pixel quality to ensure number plates and other important details are written to the DVR without the distortion that can occur on many systems where moving objects are captured.<\/p>\n

    As you can see from the picture, it\u2019s also small and unobtrusive and it\u2019s sturdy enough to get knocked by thermos flasks clip boards etc etc and live on!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

    StepProtect Sensor System<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    T&M also fits our StepProtect sensor system. However, with the advent of TfL\u2019s Progressive Safe System, this has superseded the DVS sensor requirement and T&M will likely disable this going forward, opting for TrafficAngel\u2019s AI Camera based PSS solution instead.

    StepProtect certainly has its place though for customers looking to reduce nearside blindspot damage, and many of our customers have saved \u00a3\u00a3\u00a3\u00a3\u00a3 in replacement steps and body work as the system warns them when they\u2019re about to hit that blind-spot bollard!<\/p>\n\n\n

    7 Inch Monitor<\/h2>\n

    Our 4ch 7 inch monitor (9 inch is also available) has a button lock feature as well as auto-dimming for night driving. A key feature of the screen however is the mount. So many times, a screen and camera system will be let down by the flimsy bracket securing the monitor in the cab.<\/p>\n

    Our mount is designed so the driver tightens just one butterfly screw allowing for speedy as well as precise swivel and angle adjustments to suit each driver. Tighten the buterfly and NOTHING moves! Customers LOVE the reliability of our screen and mount!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

    Moving on to our Progressive Safe System (the next gen October 2024 DVS requirement for vehicles 12 tonnes and over entering London), right we see our AI corner camera, below right the driver display and below the passenger A-pillar pedestrian warning display, no wires showing and all looking factory fit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Below, we see the black AI side camera which is being fitted to work alongside the existing white non-AI side camera. But an integrated solution is also available where the AI cameras are used as part of the recording system.

    Lastly, we see the left turn alarm, safely tucked away but positioned to give out a clear 97dB spoken left turn warning to pedestrians and cyclists in the blind spot. Our alarm is IP69K and resistant to high pressure water jets, making it a reliable choice for construction vehicles etc.<\/p>\n\n\n
